More Than 50 Years of Amateur Radio in Kakanj
VIŠE OD 50 GODINA RADIOAMATERIZMA U KAKNJU
Radio Club Kakanj was founded on June 18th, 1969. To this day, hundreds of young people have gone through sections of our radio club and acquired basic knowledge of radio technology and communications. It was crucial in choosing their life path to many of our members, some of them being trusted experts today in the fields of electronics, telecommunications, television and radio.
We have accomplished significant results in many years of our work. Since the founding of the club, our members have made hundreds of thousands of contacts with amateur radio operators from around the world. Successful work and increased activity has been recognized with numerous awards, trophies and certificates for participation in contests from China, Japan, Australia, the United States and other countries.
Radio klub “Kakanj” je osnovan 18. juna 1969. godine, i od tada sve do danas, kroz sekcije radio kluba je prošlo na stotine mladih ljudi koji su svoje osnovno znanje o radio tehnici i komunikacijama stekli upravo u radio klubu. Mnogima od njh je to bilo presudno u odabiru životnog poziva, a neki od njih su sada cijenjeni stručnjaci u oblasti elektronike, telekomunikacija, televizije, radija i slično.
U svom dugogodišnjem radu smo postigli značajne rezultate. Od osnivanja, članovi ovog kluba su uspostavili na stotine hiljada veza sa radio amaterima cijelog svijeta. Za uspještan rad i aktivnosti ovaj klub je dobitnik brojnih priznanja, pehara i diploma za postignute rezultate u takmičenjima iz Kine, Japana, Australije, Indije, SAD i drugih zemalja.

The City of Kakanj
GRAD KAKANJ
With an extremely rich cultural heritage, Kakanj is home to the ancient neolithic settlements in the Trstionica river valley and a paleolithic settlement in the city center. Kakanj is well known for its Zgošćanski stećak, an ancient tombstone, which is located in the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The oldest mosque in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the oldest Franciscan Monastery with an exceptionally rich library and ancient organs, are all located in the village of Kraljeva Sutjeska, close to the medieval city of Bobovac, throne of the Bosnian kings. The town of Kakanj has well developed winter tourism with Bočica hiking resort and the Ponijeri mountain. Together they are highly visited locations, with tourists coming not only from Kakanj, but from other cities and countries as well.
Other attractions include: Bistrik Swamp, Gornja Trstionica Jungle and Tičići Hydrothermal Spring. Kakanj is a city of extremely rich cultural and historical heritage which attracts numerous tourists from the surrounding cities and towns.
